The RBL Bank Namma (BMRCL) Metro MTS Card enables seamless payments across public transport modes like metro, buses, trains, and ferries, as well as for tolls and parking. These reloadable cards are typically KYC-exempt.

RBL Bank Namma Metro NCMC is a prepaid financial instrument that allows users to spend a set amount of money as loaded onto the card. The card is supported by the Rupay platform and can be used at all NCMC compliant metro stations, merchant locations, and e-commerce sites that accept these types of cards. The card is issued in accordance with regulations set by the Reserve Bank of India.
- Visit your nearest Bangalore Metro station and request for the Namma Metro NCMC Card at the counter, fill your details in the simple Application Form and submit it to the operator else commuters can fill the e-form online and share the token number with the operator at the counter.
- After entering the details by the operator, One Time Pin (OTP) will be generated and sent to your mobile number provided in the application.
- Share the OTP for validation, pay the card issuance fee and top-up amount to load balance on the card for usage.
Transit Balance can only be used for Metro and bus Fares. It cannot be used for online or offline Shopping. Personal Balance can be used for both online and offline payments. Additionally, you can add money to your Transit Balance from your personal balance, but the personal balance cannot be used directly for Metro and bus fares.

The RBL Bank Namma Metro Card is instantly issued to the customer at Bangalore Metro Stations and RBL Bank Bangalore branches on submission of the required details – Name, Mobile number, OVD (PAN).
RBL Bank Namma Metro card is valid until the last day of the month of the year indicated on the card. If your card is nearing its expiry date, then you can visit the nearest Bengaluru RBL Bank Branch/Bengaluru Metro stations issuance counter and get a new card.
Yes, however, you can set your PIN immediately after purchasing the card from the mobile app/web portal.
A prepaid card with no financial transaction for a period of one year shall be made/treated as inactive after sending a notification to the prepaid cardholder. It can be reactivated only after validation and applicable due diligence. The money on the card if any can be used after activating the inactive card.
Card balance can be topped up via “Money Add” channels, which can be done in following ways:
- Money Add Cash: You may approach a transit point (TOM Counter) or nearby RBL Branch to top up the card balance (money load transaction). You have to pay the amount to be topped up in cash to the operator and the operator will perform a money add transaction.
- Money Add via online channels (Debit/Credit/Net banking): You must initiate a fund transfer from your debit/credit/Net banking facility. Post successful fund transfer, you have to go to a particular touch point at Metro Station and tap your card against an online card reader. A balance update transaction will have to be done to realize this top-up amount in card balance.
You can check your RBL Bank Prepaid Card balance through multiple channels like Mobile App, Call Centre or Web Portal. The balance can also be viewed at any Metro Station Customer Service Desk by placing NCMC card at the card reader.

The key feature of NCMC RUPAY Contactless Prepaid Card is offline payments which reduces the dependency on network connectivity. Offline payments do not require an online connectivity with the card issuing bank, hence you don’t need to enter 4 digit pin. Card balance is used to make such payments. Offline mode of payments up to INR 2,000 is allowed.
- Amount loaded in RBL Bank Namma Metro card during any month shall not exceed INR 9,000 and the total amount loaded during the financial year shall not exceed INR 1,20,000
- Total amount debited from card during any month shall not exceed INR 9,000
- Stored value maximum amount to be loaded on the wallet for offline transactions is INR 2,000
The upper limit of an offline payment transaction shall be INR 200 and shall change on time-to-time basis as per the RBI guideline.
As a cardholder, you are responsible for the security of the card. If the card is lost or stolen, you should report the loss/ theft to RBL Bank/Namma Metro (BMRCL) customer care centre and get the card blocked permanently. You may also immediately block the card through self-service option on the mobile app/web portal.
Important Note: Balance in the offline wallet of the card shall not be refunded back in case of card lost even on intimation to the Bank.

The salient features of PPI-MTS are as follows:
- Apart from the MTS, these PPIs can be used only at merchants whose activities are allied / related to / are carried on within the premises of the transit system;
- Reloadable in nature;
- Maximum outstanding cannot exceed INR 3,000 at any point of time;
- Cash-out or refund or fund transfer is not permitted;
Do’s:
- Sign on the signature panel on the back side of the card as soon as you receive the card and keep your card safe
- Never write your PIN on your card. Memorize your PIN number and destroy the PIN mailer
- Block the view of keypad when using your PIN at merchant outlets or ATMs
- Protect the magnetic stripe (black stripe on the backside of the card) of the card
- Insist on the merchant swiping the card in front of you. Accompany the merchant if the swipe machine is placed elsewhere and ensure that the swipe transaction happens in your presence only
- Ensure that your contact details are always updated with the Bank

- You may also immediately block the card through self-service option on the mobile app
- Set your own limits to your POS and ECOM transactions through your self-service option in the mobile app
Don’ts:
- Do not handover the card or share your PIN with any person, including your close family members / friends
- Do not keep the card and PIN together
- Do not allow anyone else to use your card or enter your PIN for you
- Do not share or store your PIN on email, SMS or phone or write it on the back side of the card
- Do not expose your card to magnetic devices
- Do not share ATM PIN or Prepaid card information over the phone. This includes your card expiry date, 3 digit CVV number (card verification value number) and PIN
