Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF)

The AIF is a Central Sector Scheme launched in 2020 under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan to provide medium to long-term debt financing for investment in post-harvest management infrastructure and community farming assets.

Improve farm-gate infrastructure and aggregation points

Eligible Projects:

Post-Harvest Management Projects
Viable Farming Assets

Eligible Beneficiaries:

Farmers, FPOs, SHGs, PACS, JLGs
Agri-entrepreneurs, Startups
Cooperatives, State Agencies, Local Bodies
PPP Projects sponsored by government entities

Financial Features:

Interest Subvention: 3% per annum on loans up to INR 2 crore for 7 years.
Credit Guarantee: Coverage through CGTMSE and NABSanrakshan for FPOs.
Moratorium: 6 months to 2 years on repayment
Cap on Interest Rate: 9% to ensure affordability

Support Mechanisms:

Online Portal: Single-window access for applications.
Project Management Units (PMUs): Handholding support.
Convergence: With other central and state schemes
